After receiving his BSc in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University in 1990, John attended UBC School of Rehabilitation Sciences and graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 1994. He practiced for a number of years in the a wide variety of settings, and then returned to UBC and completed a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Sciences in 2010.  In total, John has been a practicing physiotherapist for nearly 28 years, working in a wide variety of settings. His primary role for the majority of his early career was at the Chilliwack Hospital.  

In the last 7 years, John practiced in both the private and public settings. In addition to his clinical role at FusionPhysio, John continues to work at Abbotsford Regional Hospital. John finds the private practice experience very rewarding and has enjoyed this new career path. In the addition to the advanced knowledge obtained from his Masters degree, he has taken a wide range of courses to develop his orthopaedic skills, He also has a keen interest in concussion and vestibular management. and has taken introductory and advanced courses in each area.

Outside of work, John enjoys an active lifestyle including weight training, cycling, swimming, and walking his lovely dog Allie. Additional hobbies include working in his yard, gardening and landscape design, house renovations and small wood-working projects. He is also an avid reader of fiction novels.

John has two adult daughters who both attend the University of the Fraser Valley’s criminology program. His oldest was just recently married. John and his wife Jennifer met as children and they have been married for 32 years.
