Charise is a small town bush kid that loves an adventure and good story. She was born and raised “Beyond Hope, and past Hell’s Gate” and has spent the last 15+ years in the beautiful Rainbow Country, Chilliwack.
Her philosophy is “Think global, walk local”. Growing up in the Fraser Canyon she has an appreciation for remote, rural and Indigenous healthcare. Charise enjoys working in all areas of Physiotherapy but has developed a special interest in: Indigenous health, remote health, persistent or complex pain, pediatrics (kids), 2SLGBTQIA+, and water therapy. Her passion is finding what works for you. She offers diverse exercises, hands on manual therapy, taping, suctioning, traction and compassionate witnessing.
Before graduating in 2018 from a Doctor of Physiotherapy in Australia, Charise worked locally as a Kinesiologist. She graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with a Bachelor of Kinesiology with a special focus in sports training. In Australia she strengthened her skills working at large tertiary hospitals in Brisbane, Cairns and Darwin. She has also enjoyed fly in fly out community physiotherapy where she worked in remote hospitals, doctors offices, home health and age-care facilities.
Charise has worked with a wide variety of sports teams/events including: Cascades Basketball, Team Canada Basketball, Major Midget Hockey, WHL Canucks, Bond University Rugby, and the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. When she’s not at Fusion you can find her at Sto:lo Health, Chilliwack General Hospital, by any body of water or going on an adventure with family.
